Two 2003 Explorer Questions

I have a couple of questions about a 2003 Explorer 4.0 I just purchased. First, I hear a slight whistling noise under dash when I am cruising at 60 mph or so with cruise control on. After I tap the brake to disengage C/C, it stops. What could this be? Next, there is lots of cold air coming in through the glove box when I am driving. I can even feel it in the drivers seat. I have to run the heat on high all the time when its really cold outside. Any help with these issues would be greatly appreciated.

It seems you have a vacuum leak in the cruise control servo and also a vacuum leak on the climate control. Check under the hood for a loose vacuum line coming off of the intake manifold or the servo on the cruise that operates the throttle. Something like this can be very hard to find. Do you have a dealer you bought the car from?

Yeah I bought it from a local Ford dealership as is. I guess I could try to track down the leaks. Would the leak for the climate control be under the hood as well or under the dash?

Does the 2003 Explorer have throttle by wire (incorporating the cruise control) or is that one vacuum controlled?

I looked under the dash around the brake pedal and the cruise control module under the hood and there are no vacuum lines anywhere. all the vacuum, lines around the climate control valves under the dash are good and tight btw.
