So My dad and i just took apart the throttle body..everything is working. so we took apart the ecu harness and the cable bunch underneath it. we checked all the cables from the ecu to the IAC, all checked out fine. So now we are thinking the computer is just fried.. any one have any ideas for what it could be?

95 eclipse gs non turbo 420A, is the car.

Hey so more detail as to when the problem occurs.

It happens mostly when its warmed up and driving. when i come to a stop light from driving it will rev until i come to a complete stop and then it slows to 750 and starts surging from 1k-2k usually. when im driving occasionally the car will jerk and the CEL will go off and it will be fine for a couple minutes and it will come back on. but theres other times when the light just never comes on from start up to shut down.. thats why its so confusing as to what it could be. :runaround: I'm going to pull off the TB tonight and clean it again to double check. is there anything else i could do or do i have to finally take it to a shop and let them hack at it. the codes again its spitting out is P0505 and P1294..anything that you guys can come up with..and I mean anything!

so it was the coolant was about a half gallon empty so the ECU was reading it wrong. and now it purs like a kitten at 750rpm

as i dont know anything that has been goin on with the car heres the things i would recomend to cheack, the iac tps sensors, also if uve had any work done make sure teh timeing is perfect when i rebuilt mine it was 1 tooth off and idled at about 3k

we replaced all the sensors known to man on the thing basically. all but the 02 i believe. and the timing wouldn't cause the surge i dont think would it?

yeah that accounts for the high idle but it also surges between 1k and 2k. so i didnt know if it being off could cause it to surge like that. also it happens to idle really high when im coming to a stop. it just slowly rises to 3k and stays until i come to a complete stop and then it drops to 1k and starts surging or stays idling at 2200

Wait till the car is idling good and disconnect the IAC sensor and see if it stops your problem. It sounds like the IAC is working fine but the ECU may not be controlling it properly.

that's what we are thinking because this is the 3rd IAC that we've put in it
