Ok, heres the deal. The other morning at about 3 a.m. i tried to start my truck and it "shorted out"...for awhile the negative terminal was shot so if it didn't have a good connection the solenoid on the fender would grind but the starter wouldn't turn. So i replaced to terminal and didn't have anymore problems. Now, it was doing it again, so i left it sit. At 9 a.m. i jumped in and it fired right up. turned it off and it fired up again, so i figured it was just flooded and left it sit again. Then, 2 hours later, nothing. It turns over but won't fire. Tried jumping it cuz the battery was low from cranking, and nothing. I hate diagnosing. I can fix, just not diagnose. I tightened all the connections and still nothing. I know its something simple but like i said...i hate diagnosing.

Try spraying some starting fluid into the intake pull the hose in front of the throttle plate. If it starts its a fuel problem. Look on the fuel rail for a pressure regulator it will have a vacuum hose on it unplug the hose if it has fuel in it buy a new one. This will cause a flooded condition. Unhook the fuel filter if you can blow through it its not plugged.
Otherwise use a 12 volt test light put it on the coil negative if it don't blink
the pickup in the distributor is bad. Advance or Auto Zone will check the module on the side of the distributor free.
