Hi there,
I searched through this forum but I wasn't able to find any thread with the answer for my problem, I hope someone will be able to helpme.
I bought an Infinit I 30 1998, it works perfectly but I took it to for an oil change and when I got it bakc the Check Engine light was on!!! It doesn't blink but it's permanently on, and I don't want to take it to the Nissan dealer because it will charge me only for take a look!!!
Is there a way to deactivate the light???
Thanks in advanced!!!

My advice is to buy a copy of Haynes Repair Manual for the 1993-2001 Maxima. It has very detailed instructions on how to determine why your check engine light is on. They are too long to re-type and post here. You can also go to www.maxima.org. Good luck.

on your pcm (under the console behind the black cover in the driver side floor board) ther is a clpear plastic cover and behind that there is a "gear" that lets a small flat head scredriver fit into it you need to tur your car on and turn the "gear all the way clockwise (i think) if not its counterclock wise but be nice to it because its fraginle. then after 2 seconds turn it bak the other way and it will spit a code to you long and short flashes get the number of long and short flashes and post a reply and ill tellyou the problem cause i have a shop manual for the i 30
