Just came across this article by Seth Godin - "What to do about Detroit?":
http://sethgodin.typepad.com/seths_blog/2008/11/what-to-do-abou.html
Just reminded me, again, of how serious the issue really is.
I have my own opinion(s), but these are usually global rather than regional.
Should there be a bail out? My honest opinion is NO - globally. Why? Because these companies would burn any bail-out money in a very short period of time. And then they will be asking for more, and more, and more!
Anyone with experience in the industry knows this from lessons-learned!?!?!
What is your opinion?
Millions of people are going to be affected globally, directly or indirectly, with this automotive slow down. As soon as the automotive industry coughs, a lot of other companies get a cold.
Looking at the situation closer to home...
...are YOU impacted, directly or indirectly, by this automotive industry recession?

the 25 billion to the domestic auto makers is a very bad idea...when the politicians decide who gets bailed out this is dangerous..
one example would be GM gets 25 billion and then constructs a manufacturing plant in china...
how do the politicians control all of this...? they can't...
look how the financials are droping with all our taxes bailing them out...the same will occur to the automakers...
next month OPEC is planning to drop oil production,,,so as goverments around the world try to stimulate the economy ,, the opec countries are gonna depress everything..thats how this economic depression got expanded...
the strong will survive..the weak and stupid must fall..this is a capitalist country.
where is all this money coming from ???? your wallet , thats where.. which means yes we are all effected ...no one escapes ....
