transmision swop for a 99 saturn sl1

can anyone give me the steps of swoping my trany on my saturn do i have to lift the engin how do i get the trany out of it!

2 ways. Either remove the engine and tranny, or just remove the tranny out the drivers side wheel well. You will need to lower the subframe to get enough clearance, but with a little struggle it will come out. Youll need to remove the halfshafts on both sides first along with removing the drivers side strut (just makes things easier).
Since you have a '99 SL1 :
Auto : only replace with a '98-02 SOHC (MP6)
Man: Doesnt matter year or tranny type (if using a DOHC mp3 tranny your fuel mileage may decrease)
