Since we too needed to know how to remove the door panel to get to the handle for replacement, I thought I would update the help requested.
To remove the door panel, look between the panel and the door frame itself using a flat head screwdriver to lightly pry it up, and look for the white plastic panel clips (they are like prongs with barbs). Put the screwdriver between the two heads that you will see with a rag on your doorframe (so not to scratch it) and carefully pry them apart. Repeat this procedure about 8 times around the bottom of the door panel and around the sides. Once these are all released, lift door panel up with window seal and it should come right off.
That's how you get into it without breaking all your clips. Hope this helps others that searched all over the internet and only got the same stupid answer to just remove the panel.:banghead:

Your also going to need to drill out the 3/16" Pop rivet holding the old handle in place & I would recommend replacing the rivet since it holds the handle base in place.
