What's wrong with this picture?
Senator Obama out on the campaign trail encounters a man who we now know as " Joe the Plumber".
This American voter talks to Obama about wanting to take over a plumbing business and asks Obama about his tax plan and how it would affect his business.
Obama says to the man "that if he were to earn less than $250k/year that he would receive a tax break but that if he earned over $250k that he would be taxed at the higher rate and that the government would use that extra money to redistribute his wealth to those that are not as well off".

Senator McCain hammered Senator Obama pretty hard on this incident during their last debate standing up for "Joe the Plumber".

Within 24 hours of this chance meeting and the question and answer session with Obama, " Joe the Plumber" is now being attacked by the liberal media, Biden and Obama himself.

The media now has said many offensive and derogatory remarks of this man "Joe".
"He's not a licensed plumber", "He owes back taxes", "His name isn't Joe", "he was a plant by the Republicans", and on "The View" that "This guy has a fantasy".
Obama and Biden both said "How many plumbers do you know that make $250k?" What an insult!!!!!!:loser:

How come the media can find out and tell you who "Joe the Plumber" is in 24 hours and not tell you who Obama is after two years?How come the dirt can come out on an American taxpaying voting citizen and none on Obama or Biden?

I just don't understand why anyone is looking into this incident. Isn't "Joe the Plummer" the same as you and I? He is a hard worker who wants more out of his life. I don't know about any of you but don't you feel the same way? How would this have been any different if it were you there asking the question? An American voter, wheter a plant or not, was there to ask a presidential canidate about an issue. What's the problem? Who cares exactly who this guy is? Who cares how much money he makes? Who cares what his real name is? Every single one of us would love to sit down and ask the canidates our personal questions. Why is it any different just because "joe" aired on national TV?

The media wants to deflect attention from the statement that Obama made about "spreading the wealth around." He also told "Joe" that he wasn't so much looking to penalize him for his success as he was looking to give a hand up (out?) to those who are behind Joe.

Interesting sound bite. Freud would be proud and Marx is grinning like a Cheshire cat from his grave.

The repubs are missing a fine chance to grind Obama into Socialist topsoil for this gaffe. Forget Joe, focus on Obama's statement.

There is no such thing as a tax on just the rich. Taxes on wealthy people affect everyone.
Remember, Obama defines anyone making over $90,000 a year as "rich."
Joe the plumber discovered that Obama thinks Joe's rich too. Under Obama, he won't be able to hire new employees and grow his business.
Joe's not alone. Obama says he'll strip away the FICA cap at $90,000 for every worker. That means every dollar you earn over that amount, you'll pay 7 percent!

Obama Lie No. 2 — I want to give a tax cut

Obama says he will let the Bush tax cuts expire. That's an automatic 5 percent (maximum) tax increase on almost all taxpayers.
Plus middle class folks pay capital gains taxes. Obama has said he wants to almost double them from a low of 15 percent to almost 30 percent.
He wants to hike the dividend tax, and he also has promised taxes on gas and energy.
Obama also wants to dramatically increase the estate tax, which had almost disappeared. There goes your idea of sharing your wealth with your kids in the future.
