ok i have a question. is the 2.5rs-t stock from subaru? or is it just a 2.5rs with an aftermarket turbo upgrade? and second question, can u run a turbo set up on a stock 2.5rs and if so what is the max amount of boost you can safely run on stock internals? i want to turbo my 05 impreza 2.5rs but im trying to get as much info before i go and buy the set-up.

From '06, the WRX came with a 2.5 turbo engine.
The 2.5RS has always been N/A
You can turbo the 2.5RS - see the FAQ.

i have another question. i found a complete turbo kit for my car, but how safe would it be to run a turbo on the 2.5rs motor? would it be better if i got forged internals put in so that i wont blow the pistons apart? or is it fine to run the kit with the stock motor?

For the most part the 2.5rs motor will not be able to handle a turbo. it would survive maybe one month before going. better internals would do the trick, the other option is doing a swap...up to you on how much work you want to do.

You can turbocharge a 2.5 without any problems with only running 5-6 psi max. But you have to get a greddy emanage or if you want basics you need voltage clamp and ignition safeguard to retard timing when boost starts. i have a my00 turbocharged for about 3 years now without any problems and it passes epa emissions. If you run any higher boost then 5-6psi youll need to get bigger injectors and a full standalone electronic setup, and lower piston compression .The greddy is a nice set it will control timing maps and fuel maps. But youll need a laptop to configure it. the map voltage clamp will have to be set at 4.5-4.8 volts . you will have to play with the voltage some cars like difference settings. It isn't hard to do.all i say is if you do turbo it be very carefull when you hit second gear ive been through alot of transmissions cause i blew second cause of the awd.
