Will not always start

First start after sitting a while, my wifes 2003 Altima 3.5 starts right up. Any other starts while car is still warm, engine starts up then immediately dies. Background info: 133k miles, no problems. Engine light comes on the other day for code P0455 EVAP gross leak, check gas cap seems ok and unhook battery to clear code. Next time I start the car it does the dying thing(it was cold this time). If I give it gas it will stay running. When I drove it that day I had the battery checked at AutoZone but there was too much corrosion for it to be tested. go home take off cables and clean, and then it wont start at all. Take battery to store, its dead, and buy new one. Install, fires right up first time. Any subsequent starts, goes back to dying. So, it has new battery and new gas cap, and I ve went through the idle relearning process and thats right. Where do I start? I do not even see where the evap canister is to check that or valves. No tune up has ever been done, if that might be a cause for this. Original spark plugs and everything. Thanks for any help in the right direction.

i would definately take it to a shop and get a tuneup. you should get tuneups every 30,000-50,000 and a "major" one at about 100k. so yea it really needs a tuneup that will probably fix your problem, take it to a shop and get them to do anything it needs

Still have not had time for the complete tuneup but did check it out myself thinking about the fact if I gave it gas it would keep running. Removed the throttle body and found it to have excessive buildup, cleaned it up and it starts every time now, thanks.
