I have a 2005 envoy Denali XL. V-8 the noise is not extremly loud. and only can be herd wile at low speed with something for the noise to bounce off of and back to you. I did notice that this only happens wile the trany is still enguaged in top gear or overdrive. as soon as it drops a gear ither on its own or mannualy the noise stops. Im beleive the noise is coming from the tourque converter but. I have been to several diffrent dealerships with the same answer. ( thats a normal sound ) yet not one place could tell me what the noise is cuming from. Im not an idiot! I noticed that other Threads have been opened on this issue. I hope this helps clairify. For some further HELP!!!! Thank you..

How many miles do you have on it? If you haven't yet, you should have the dealership flush your transmission and make sure they use dexron 6.

Check your owners manual or your tranny dipstick, it should tell you what fluid to use. I have an 06 and mine calls for Dexron 6. Have the dealership do the flush so you know it's done right. I paid 140 at the Chevy dealer. Check your fluid level a couple days later to make sure your good, mine was a little low. It probably won't fix your clicking sound but it'll prolong the life of your transmission. It's always a good idea to get the original (break-in) fluid out of there because it's probably full of sediment that could cause problems with the valvebody and such. Bring up the noise issue with them too while your there. You can always write, email, or call GMC if you don't get any satisfaction from the dealerships.
