GM OEM DVD Headphones

Does anyone know if the headphones from a 2007/2008 will work on a 2005?

Some sellers of headphones on eBay claim their's only work on 2007 and up.

Anything I should be aware of? Do they need to be programmed to a frequency or something? Are they IR or RF?
