making old paint shine?

i built this kit about two years ago, and it looked pretty nice at one time. but sitting in the dusty garage since then it now has these dirt deposits that wont come off by water alone, even on the windows. it also never got a clear coat because i must have gotten preoccupied with another kit, ha.

any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Depends what type of paint you used to paint it? But generally some fine Tamiya or other rubbing compound will remove the dust film on both the body and the windows. Then best to keep it in some kind of display box to stop the same happening again.

I use 'scratch-X' on paint, and windows. Without a sealer on the decals i think you are going to be limited to soap and water.

I missed the part about no 'sealer' on the decals!! But it's still not such a problem. You can use Tamiya wax on the decals and it won't damage them but it will clean the model and remove the dust somewhat.
