Intake Manifold again?

I just noticed an Anti-freeze drip when I was changing the oil in my 99 Suburban 5.7. I noticed the drip when I was under the vehicle, and it seems to be coming from the back of the engine. I had the Intake Manifold Gasket replaced about a year ago. I am going to take it back to the mechanic that did the work, If it is the Intake gasket again I believe it is past his warranty. I want to arm myself with good information before I go back. How long should this repair have lasted? Why would it start leaking again? If not under warranty should he give me a break on a new repair? Ive seen great threads on this to do it yourself but I believe it is past my skill level. Thanks.....

First thing take it back and let him check it.
May be other leaks to.
If intake is leaking that is up to te shop wheater or not they want to warranty it.
Aftermarket gaskets make a problem solver gasket for them .
It is a steel gasket with a rubber backing.
Holds up a lot better than the plastic OEM gasket.
One place where aftermarket may be better.
Good luck

I did mine with the felpro steel gasket. The dealer did it at 60k miles and it lasted about 50k mi. It was a miracle because the plastic gasket was about gone. This forum helped me diy and I have had no issues.

I'll use nothing but Felpro gaskets.

The first time I did it, I used the plastic Felpro gasket. It lasted just over a year. Then I found out that Felpro also has a steel one that MT-2500 mentions. It hasn't been a year yet, but I'm confident it will last longer than a year. Completing the change isn't hard -- mostly time consuming. Make sure to mark the position of your distributor before moving it.
