Congers man charged with sexually abusing a child in 2002

CONGERS - A 23-year-old man has been arrested on charges of sexually abusing a 5-year-old child a number of times in 2002.
State police investigators arrested Roland Marrero on Wednesday, following a four-month investigation into events alleged to have happened six years ago in Congers, police said.
Marrero was charged with five felony counts of first-degree criminal sex act. The felony charge covers anal and oral sex and can involve victims who are incapable of consent or physically helpless.
A 5-year-old child would be considered incapable of consent under the law, police said.
Marrero, who lives at 46 Whitman Ave., was being held yesterday in the county jail on $150,000 bail following his arraignment in Clarkstown Justice Court, Senior Investigator Wilfredo Garcia said.
Marrero was 16 at the time.
Garcia said the case was referred to state police based in Haverstraw four months ago from an out-of-state law enforcement agency.
"I believe the family called an outside agency where they are living now and were told to call the state police," Garcia said.
Garcia said Marrero was a suspect from the beginning based on information provided to investigators.
"Any time a case involves a child, it's difficult," Garcia said. "The evidence was there, and there was enough to make an arrest."
The name and the gender of the child were being withheld by police.
"We try to protect the identity of our victim," Garcia said, adding that the gender of the child doesn't really make a difference in this case.
Marrero is unemployed, Garcia said.

I KNOW THAT GUY!! Roland, I've hung out with him several times. just some kid who was really really fit, loved acrobatics, smoked his weed and played his game with girls. Never knew about this til yesterday... thats pretty fucked. Anybody wanna know where he lives? I had no idea people can cover up such a sick thing. When I have kids, damn, i'm actually scared now.

On another note... the investigator's name is Wilfredo... WILFREDO!!

Wow Vinny, that's gotta be weird man. I've known people like that and criminals but they were discovered then, wasn't a cover up.

Nope. Save the juice for more useful things. One bullet, very large caliber, point blank.

That is about the worst thing you could do! We need to come up with a more painful death for this guy! The chair would waste too much electricity, the bullet would kill him too fast! My girl suggested choppin off his balls and waitin for him to bleed to death! Maybe as he bleeds to death we can send some lonely inmates in to have their way with him! Try to give him somewhat of an idea what it is like!

I would have to walk myself down to the jail and be restrained for a while as I would probably have very serious thoughts of killing that man if that were my child. Pedophiles should die. Every single one of them.

Well maybe be should form an angry mob and head on down to the jail!! Somebody needs to take care of this guy the way he deserves!

i think no action other than jailing should ever be taken against a child rapist.

...because the inmates will do the dirty work for us. Drop the soap, DEATH BY RAPE!

I heard of a hate crime once where a guy got a piece of PVC plastic pipe shoved up his brown round. They shoved razor wire into the pipe and then pulled the pipe out, leaving the razor wire in. Then they tied the wire to a cactus in the desert....

I'd bet someone they couldn't do it to him...... then pay them twice as much after they did....plus a case of beer for a job well done..(not to mention whoever else chips in...)

Sorry, sorry, sorry. I would NEVER condone gambling where it wasn't legal...:grinyes:

If he's guilty, he needs to die in the most painful of ways :swear:

Murderers, rapists and child molesters deserve no better.

That makes us no better than him. He needs to gone from this earth as quickly as we can make it happen.

No muss, no fuss. We don't even get our hands dirty as long as we stand far enough away to avoid the splatter.

I understand what your saying but......

No muss, no fuss..
I would think the victim and family would want it to be a big "fuss"..
If you simply kill the guy like its no big deal, they might see it as what happened to the victim was no big deal....
They would see justice but not "feel" justice. Its a state of mind thing for the victim as well....They may have to see their attacker in severe pain, just like they were put through, in order to put it behind them....

.....sometimes there is no better therapy then a good old fashioned @$$ beatin'.....:2cents:

eye for an eye idealism, it works for some cases, doesn't hold for others. either way, the punishment is the least of my concerns. its the paranoia of coming to knowing a "regular guy" not being what he seems. Trust me, I know a lot of strange people, keep clinically insane people as some of my closest friends... its this joe shmoe who was just that, a joe shmoe, that turned out to be some kind of perverted monster

Back in the late 80's, I was stationed (US Navy, Submarine Force) at a shipyard in Kittery, Maine, where the sub I was on was being overhauled. One morning, base security came to the offices we were in and escorted a friend of mine out in hand cuffs. One of the more senior enlisted guys came up to me and asked if I had ever let this guy babysit for my daughter (who was about 18 months old at the time) and I said no. Turns out that the guy they led away had been molesting the senior guys 5 year old daughter. They had to keep him FAR away from anyone that was stationed on that boat 'cause we all wanted to kill him. Especially those of us that had trusted him around our kids.

The guy used to talk about living with his 13 year old girlfriend in her mothers house when he had been stationed in Charleston SC. We all thought he was joking.

Yea, I know what you mean. Knowing a "regular guy" that turns out to be something else.
