2000 Altima GLE: Steering Makes Clicking Sound

About 2 months ago, I noticed a strange "clicking" sound whenever I make a sharp left or right turn coming from my front end. It's a very subtle "click" that you can only hear when you are listening for it. When turning, it only makes a single click, and occasionally I will hear two clicks in series that occur about 0.5 seconds apart during the sharp turn scenario (i.e. a U-turn).

I'm thinking that my newly-formed habit of taking fast turns (i.e. with very little braking) around corners and highway off-ramps could have caused some parts of my steering and/or suspension to begin to wear more rapidly, and maybe this clicking sound is a sign that a certain part is going bad, but I'm not at all familiar with suspension and/or steering linkages. I do know that my car has a very stiff suspension set-up where I can feel virtually every little bump.

Does anyone have any ideas to help me narrow down to a list of maybe 3 or 5 things that I can look for? Any help is highly appreciated!

I just wanted to update everyone on this. The clicking/clunking sound was caused by a cracked CV (on both sides of my front-end), which was leaking grease over time. This resulted in added wear and tear on my CV joint/axle, which resulted in a loud, distinct noise every time I would make either a right or left turn. Long story short, my CV joints had to be replaced, although I probably could have waited a bit longer until catastrophic failure eventually would ensue, but the noise was very irritating so I decided to get it done that day.

Cost of repair was $420, which included 2 hours of labor and $135 for each brand new CV joint/axle assembly.

That sucks, my cv boot is leaking grease too ;) I found that out when I was changing my rotor. Actually, I lied, it's not leaking, it's just not connected all the way lol. Anybody know how to fix it by themselves?
