Look what I got at Hobby Lobby Spring Sale!

For those that don't know, Hobby Lobby (at least the ones in my area) is having a spring sale, and all plastic models are 50% off. I had to take advantage of this, of course. Here's what I got:

Tamiya 1/24 Porsche 911 GT3
Tamiya 1/24 350Z (Chrome plated version)
Revell 1/24 Datsun 510
Revell 1/24 Ferrari 360 Modena Spider
AMT/Ertl 1/25 Silhouette Show Car
Tamiya 1/32 Wild Willy Jr.

I hate to spend so much money on models at one time, but I couldn't pass up on a good deal like that. I wish the paints were on sale, too. I'll probably leave that chrome plated 350 model in the box, since I already have the regular version to put together. Does anyone know if the chrome plated version is rare?

Don't know about the metal plated bodies being rare but they do seem to be popular

Let me ask you a question. How much did you pay for the revells ? I wouldn't buy revell from overseas because they will be more expensive. I saw belive i saw both cars for 9.98 at walmart. I would have bought the spyder but i have a tamiya one comming in soon.

I don't think the plated bodies are too rare. there is a lot of them at my local hobby shop. i think they are a limited edition though.

Nice! At my local hobby shop, the metal plated are at least $5 more than the standard version! But still got the mold lines! I wish we had a spring 50% sale here!

We used to have a chain of model shops here that often had crazy sales and sold off Tamiya kits dirt cheap. They have unfortunately stopped trading but I got a few things from them, by far the best deal was a 1/20 Ferrari 312T3 for £3 and a friend of mine got the Lctite GT-R just after it came out for £8:eek: :eek: :eek:

about the gt3, i have the same kit lying aorund, it is moldet in yellow, if i spray it without primer in ts14 , would the yellow shine through the black?

At Hobby Lobby, I believe they were originally 10.99 each. I lost the receipt, but I think I spent between $50-$60. Not bad, considering the GT3 and 350Z were originally for sale at $27.99 each. The sale goes on until March 8, so I might go and get some other stuff, too.

I think I'll paint it dark blue, and try airbrushing light gray stripes on the sides, and a dark blue/light gray interior.

As for the GT3, I want to wait until I improve my modeling skills some more, cause I want that one to look really good.

Just went out there tonight a picked up a Revell 240Z and a Shelby Series 1 for $6/ea, a Tamiya 911 GT3 and Telefonica Suzuki RGV-Gamma cycle for $15/ea, and a Tamiya Grand Cherokee for $12 :)

I noticed they recently downsized their model dept; they used to have alot more Tamiya kits. I woud've bought more, but didn't see too many that I wanted.

I ran over and just returned with (2) Tamiya Modenas, Tamiyas Nissan 390, Tamiya Ford Focus WRC, Mongrams Dale Ernharts OREO car, Monograms BMW Z8, and AMT 1967 GTO. All for the tune of $92.89. The Modenas were only $19.50 each with the 50% discount. Most all other kits will run between $5-$7 after the discount.

The sale is good till March 8 as per the sign in the store. Go gettem! The NASCAR fans will love this sale.
