Hi

These days I am feeling very tierd due to long drive. Recently I have changed my office for better pay. But my office is too far from my home so everyday I drive more than 3 hrs to reach my office and near about takes same time when I come back at my home. So due to long drive I am feeling very tiered. So anyone can help me how I can minimize stress when I drive for long time.

Put some music on that relaxes you and calms you down.

Wow 6 hours a day on the road. That's 1/3 of your entire day (assuming 8 hours of sleep). There's no avoiding stress in that situation.

IDK...comfortable fuzzy driving slippers? Books on tape? Public transportation? Valium?

As soon as you start to feel sleepy or feel the need to doze off pull over and take a ten minute nap. No more that ten minutes. It will make your trip much safer and only add ten minutes to your trip and have an energy drink handy when you wake up.

I would definitely suggest books on tape. Find an author you like, or a type of story (sci-fi, horror, etc). It will keep your mind occipied and you can also get in some good story time. You could also try educational books on tape - use that time to improve the brain!

Just what he needs, a bed time story. Get real, If your nodding off or on the verge of it get off the road for a few minutes. Google "tired Drivers" and you'll find no other reliable alternative.

Dude chill out why are you getting all defensive about such a boring subject? Not that it matters since the OP is banned anyway.

Wow, banned with only three posts. Is that a record?

Didn't mean to come across as defensive but up here in Idaho there are a lot of crosses and shrines along side the road where people have died in single car accidents, most from falling asleep at the wheel.

I'd bet it's a record or at least a tie.

We have lots of highway crashes in Iowa too. Any time there's a long stretch of road people seem to fall asleep. A lot of the time they take out another vehicle too.

The best solutions, which were overlooked, are A)move closer to work B)Find a job closer to home. Money isn't everything, especially if you're stressed out and endangering your and everyone else's life for a few thousand dollars. I personally wouldn't drive 6 hours a day for tripple my current pay, and I LOVE driving.

:1: Best post for this yet! I have to completely agree. I only live 15 minutes from work.
