Removing Front rotors on 98 Navigator

Is there any special trick to getting them off? My son tried to no avail.

Towncar, thanks for the link. My son and 2 of his friends tried to remove the rotors to replace them and could not. They used some heat and pouding to no avail. There is quite a bit of rust as rotors are original with 65,000 miles.

I thought that they might have missed a nut or something, but they tell me that the rotors should just slide off spindle. Maybe more heat and heavier pounding?

Rust sucks.. some penetrating oil should help.

The 4x4 rotor includes the spindle hub.. remove the hub nut and bearings too.
The 4x2 rotor slides on over the hub.. no need to mess with the hub.
