When I get out of college, I want to pick up an older ford ranger thats manual but not too sure on how to drive manuals. I know the concept of shifting and pushing the clutch...just like driving in some scenerios..rush hour, down hills etc.

So if anyone can give me information on it..that'd be helpful

thanks

You need to find a friend who has a manual transmission to teach you in car sitting next to you. I've showed about a half dozen 16 year olds how to drive one. It takes a while to get the basics down My 15 year old took a couple of hours of driving time before she would'nt kill it at every 3rd hill or stop sign. Once you get the basic concept which take just a few minutes it takes another couple hours to get the finer points good enough that you don't kill the engine.

Like I know how to do it flat land, its not too bad. Just stoping on hills, going down hills etc just seems a little more difficult.

Thanks.
