Hi, I have a full size 1988 bronco 5.8 (351). A vacuum line came loose, and I cant find where it goes. If someone could look under their hood, they might be able to help me. On the left side of the engine (passenger side), and to the right of the canister, there is a black three way valve (about size of a silver dollar). It has three vacuum lines running from it. Two are long and one is short. The short one came loose, and I can't find the connection point.
Any help will be appreciated.

John

P.S. The original engine compartment vacuum diagram is 75% damaged (unreadable).

Look for a vacuum diagram around the schroud for the fan.

My Broncos at home so I can't look at this moment,I don't drive it to work, but I would check in the harness with the multiple lines for a broken end. I don't think the line you're looking at a line that came loose, I think you are looking at the shorter section of a longer line that became brittle and broke. I had one line break a few years ago, when I went to splice it back together I checked the other lines and they easily broke with minimal pressure because they were so brittle. I bought about 12 feet of vacuum line and replaced all of the lines. Most of them go from that carbon cannister to back behind the engine and connect to the manifold or TB.

Hope this helps.

If you find a short piece as mentioned in the previous article. I use a short piece of vacuum hose which fits tightly on this tubing to make a splice.
