Well, my front heater core has been out for a while, and I am finally trying to get around to replacing it. The only problem is, this is my daily driver, and both the Haynes and factory manuals say I have to practically tear apart the dash to get to it. I've never really messed with the dash aside from installing the radio, so I'm hoping it's less complicated than it sounds. I'm pretty mechanically inclined, so I think I could figure it out, but I was hoping for some pointers. I did find this:

I know the 95-99 Suburbans are the same, so does anyone know if this is true? Any and all feedback is welcome.

that sounds about right. Its not the funnest job in the world but once you get that lower dash apart its pretty straight forward. Careful not to spill any coolant its slippery and it will smell like moldy syrup if you make a mess with it. good luck to you.

Do a search on this site. I found you can remove 7 screws to remove the old one. There are a couple hard to get, but not impossible.
