every time i start up my 01 4.0 ranger I get a lot of water coming out the tail pipe. even after I run it all day i see it come out when I first start up

there is no coolant loss though. My coolant is full to the top top top. It never has overheated. I cant make sense of this!

I think this Irwindale Arco station on huntington drive is selling me gas with water in it.

Maybe it is mildew but I cant understand how it pours out if its mildew.
why else w

is it drips of water, steam, or white smoke?

Sounds like the catalytic converter. That is if the water drips out. The Converter produces some moisture but not enough to make it pour out of the exhaust.

My guess would be condensation. I notice other vehicles in front of me going down the road dripping water out the tailpipe especially pulling out of stop lights and stop signs. If your not having any problems with the truck i'd not worry about it

From what i noitced in the past yes Fords are famous for heavy condensation from the tail pipe like toddler had said if it runs fine then i would not worrie to much about it

Sounds like condensation to me also. However, it should disappear within a few miles, perhaps longer in colder regions. i takes about ten miles of driving for the exhaust system to be totally void of condensation. Also does the exhaust pipe have low points whereby condensation accumulates overnight?

I have a 2004 Ford Ranger, it is definitely condensation!
I estimate about 1/4 cup of condensation comes out every morning when I start up.
I wouldn't worry about it too much, unless it had a definite "anti-freeze" color.
