im not necessarily sure the two are comparable. 300zx turbo is a sports car, while the sc400 is more of a luxury coupe. you also failed to mention the years. within your price range though it would probably be a mid-late 90s SC400 or a mid 90s 300zx turbo. The last production year for the 300zx was 96. Even with a 4.0L V8 the Lexus is outdone performance wise by the 300zx.
1995 Nissan 300ZX Turbo
Base Number of Cylinders: 6
Base Engine Size: 3 liters
Base Engine Type: V6
Horsepower: 300 hp
Max Horsepower: 6400 rpm
Torque: 283 ft-lbs.
Max Torque: 3600 rpm
Drive Type: RWD
Curb Weight: 3299 lbs.
1996 Lexus SC400
Base Number of Cylinders: 8
Base Engine Size: 4 liters
Base Engine Type: V8
Horsepower: 250 hp
Max Horsepower: 5600 rpm
Torque: 260 ft-lbs.
Max Torque: 4400 rpm
Drive Type: RWD
Curb Weight: 3585 lbs
If this car was just going to be a daily driver, I would take the Lexus. Plenty of power and more than likely a more comfortable ride. Daily driver/part time track car 300zx gets my vote.

Yeah the suspension in the 300ZX TT is better than the SC400. But really neither in stock trim is an amazing handling car...but the edge goes to the 300ZX TT due to Super HICAS and having the LSD. Reason I say the 300ZX TT isnt a good handling car is b/c it's not that nimble and it's not exactly light. The SC400's suspension is softer and cushy. I have drive both the 300ZX and SC400 so I know the difference.
A good handling car around the era of the 95 300ZX TT I would say would be the Mazda RX7 or BMW M3. But obviously those are not had at the price of $6k

I'd take the Fairlady without question.

Or you could do what my friend did with his SC300, different car but same capabilities. 2JZ-GTE that bitch. He bought the lexus for about 3k, spent about 3ish in mods and had around 360whp.

You still got a car that's heavy and needs suspension...
