I have a 82 Honda Accord and the muffler is shot so I have a few questions. First off do I need to replace the whole thing? I looked at it and it doesn't look like the typical muffler. Is this something that I can pull from a wrecking yard? What is a fair price to pay for one? I have alot of work to do on this car, so I will have alot more questions? Thanks.

follow the pipe back to where it bolts to another pipe. you will need to replace that whole section

I looked under it yesterday and I'm pretty sure it was one continual piece. Any idea on what would be a fair price to pay for one?

i think the hardest part will be locating one for your year...

do you know if there are any from other years that will work? Maybe 81' or 83'? Thanks.

anything for a car that old will be hard to find, and expensive.... your best best would be to bring it to a muffler shop and have them make one.

Agree with letting the shop do the work.

Search around and locate a good muffler shop and ask for an estimate.

try going down to a junk yard and asking if they have your year accord and if they will take the part off for you many times they have someone there to do that for you and since its a junk yard and not a shop you can do some haggling. so find out how much a brand new one goes for and knock a hundred bucks off of it. or better yet go with a hundred bucks and tell them you seen one for eighty and see how much they will let it go for.
