2.0 z-tech timing belt , no timing marks ocrank pulley

Going back together, camshafts set but no marks on crank pulley or crank gear. Run no. 1 up to tdc still seems a fella can be off a cog or two. Will i be ok if irun no. 1 up to tdc as close as i can get by sight and feel.:frown:

When I did my Escort 2.0 SPI I placed a screwdriver into the spark plug hole of no. 1 cylinder. TDC was easy to find.

turn the crankshaft clockwise. when the #1 piston its in TDC on the compression stroke, the second pair of notches on the crankshaft pulley should align with the raised rib on the oil pan. I hope this helps
