Fiberglassing interior plastic

I've seen a bit on this subject but nothing seems to really help me. I want to glass the inside of my truck. Not the door panels, but all the plastic behind the front seats. The plastic that covers everything in the back.
I tried sanding some of it but it seemed to be a bit thin and it got messed up.
My question(s) is, should I glue cloth/fleese to the plastic, brush my glass on, then while still wet add some matt and brush that as well?
If yes to the glue, what kind of glue? I read that spray on 3M glue was good. I tested a small part...it wasn't good.
I'm using a poly resin. Would it work if I brushed the resin right on the plastic then layed my cloth/matt on that?
Someone please try to help. I'm really new at this and getting really frustrated because I can't seem to find the answers. Just like my dash project. I gave up on the clay bit and decided to just leave the dash ugly. I've seen hundreds of videos and forums on how to build a boat, or a car body, or speaker/amp enclosures, but none on how to glass interior plastic.
I'm hoping someone here has the knowledge or can give me a link. TIA.
