I have a 99 suburban and was just wondering if there should be back lights on the power window and 4 hi/4 lo / auto and power hatch release buttons. Any info would be great.

On my '98 Sub (Old Body Style) the 4WD and back hatch release are illuminated when the light sw is turned on and brightness is controlled thru the panel light dimmer sw. The door sw's have a very dim back light when the light sw is turned to any position from off and is not adjustable. So to answer your ?---YES

Thanks for the info. Now mine are not working so being the person that wants everything to work on my burb, do I need to replace those switches that are not lighting up? The button/switches do work but no lights

Is your Sub an "old body style" or "new body style"? '99 was a "carryover" year, even some VIN'd '00's are OBS.
So If you have an OBS sub I may be able to help. If not, maybe somebody else will help out.

2 fuses to check both in the I/P fuse block: PK LPS #9 20a and ILLUM #14 10a.
For the 4wd sw you need to check for power to the sw on gray wire with the light sw turned to park and the dimmer control high.
For the door sw's the light power wire is brown.
