does anyone know if the cluster out of an ls/ss with tach and gauges will work in a base model impala without tach by just connecting the plug on the back or do you have to hook up other wiring to make the tach and gauges work,is the plugin on the back the same from a base model to the ls/ss,thanks,has anyone already done this

I just put it in the other night and it works perfectly... the only thing is I didnt let Perry know to add enough mileage, so its kind of behind on the mileage meter. but it worked out great... fairly easy to install and a great look with the led's... It was worth the week long wait for only $150... you need to have a paypal account thats attached to your bank. if you look at my previous post you'll see the web address... check him out.

When you order from BBE, tell him what you want (tach, which color LEDs, what you want the mileage to be, etc.) Also, what year imp you have, and he will make sure you get the correct cluster. The plugs in the back are all the same, you will not have to do any modification to your car.
You will also have to fill out the mileage disclaimer form from his website, so he can put the correct mileage on your new cluster. He does good work, I've never heard anyone complain about his service or speed.

Does that mean if I buy a cluster from them with a tach, and I have no tach - it will work? Meaning, I will now have a working tachometer in a base model that never had one?
Thanks, the pictures (with LED lights) make the Impala dashboard look alive with performance.
Thanks.

Yes, it will work. The signal for a tach (and all the other guages) is sent by the Body Control Module to your instrument cluster now. The cluster just ignores it, since you don't presently have a tach. When you put in a cluster with a tach, it will work.
Some clusters only work with certain years of Impala, however. Be sure to tell BBE your year and model (base, LS, SS), so you will get the right cluster.

I contacted BB yesterday, and gave him your info. My bad about giving you the wrong address at first, sorry.
You could also register over at NAIOA.com, and send him PMs through that site, he's the founder of that site, and very quick to respond.
