Fuel Door

Well this thread is a bit crazy, when I do a search in the X Type forum about this issue I get every car and truck known to man, WHAT, This is a Jag site not a GM truck site, what is with that.

Anyway my problem is, a 2002 X type Jag, when I pull the lever on the floor, great place for that, the fuel door will not open. Is there a manual way to open this fuel door????????????

I called the Jag 24 hour hot line for help and the woman there, after asking me three times what the problem was told me to pry the fuel door open and try not to damage the door. Then take the car to the closest Jag dealer and pay the $100 an hour service fee and get it repaired, plus parts and tax.
NO WAY TO OPEN THE FUEL DOOR MANUALLY WHEN THE CABLE / LEVER FAILS?????????????????????????????

I'm 50 miles from home with no tools except for a tire iron, well I can pry it open with that. Maybe just cut the fender off and let the filler tube hang out, won't cost me a couple hundred to fix. That would be great advertisement for Jag quality.

Thanks

I do not know about you people but I will never own another Jag .

Thanks

there should be fuel handle release in trunk of your car.
check in owners manual for location.
