I have a 2002 Impala with 108,000 miles. Generally above speeds of 30 mph, when the right rear wheel hit a pot hole or bump, the rear of the car feels like it shifts sideways. Any thoughts on why and how to fix? Thanks

I had that issue, the back of the car would sway. I brought to the shop (for the front end) and they found the rear sway links were broke. I had them replaced and the car rides nice and tight. Check the sway links... At least that is my thoughts....

would be a good place to start looking as Luv says, and while there, double check that the struts are not loose, leaking badly and so on. if one is real bad, or spring on it bad, can cause a bit of swaying. the stab bar will not hold entire car by itself, needs rest of suspension good to work right.

16th hippy is right, check the struts. I had mine replaced along with the sway links. I think the combination of the struts and links make the car ride tight.
