Your Z3 is very nice. Keep it if you can because I think it will be a collectors in years to come, but try to also get the Z4. The Z4 is all around a better car.

I didn't see. What engine do you have? 1.8, 1.9, 2.3, 2.5, 2.8??? I recommend you test drive the Z4. It is the best handling car I've ever owned or driven! The chassis doesn't give unlike the E30 of the Z3 and the technology and materials are top notch. If you don't have the money for a Z4 now, that is probably better because when you do, the Z4 will have made improvements undoubtedly, such as with the side bolstering of the seats and pull-out thigh supports, etc.

You would dump your Z3 for the Z4? Be a two-timer, keep the Z3 and just wait and save for the Z4!:D

Just curious, how would you spec out your Z4? What color combinations? Are you going to be the first (and only) to pick that ugly army green color?

no, i would get it in bimmer blue or silver with a tan top

both of those colors are very nice. i wanted mine black with a beige interior and top and with the wood, but they couldn't 'locate' one. what else would you spec? i'm going through a little bit of buyer's remorse. i bought a 2.5i loaded and now i'm thinking i could've lived without all the bells and whistles and should've gotten the 3.0i. it comes with a lot of standard equipment anyway. i paid $42K for a 2.5 and that would've put me in a 3.0 stock. just thought i'd give my 2 cents incase it's something you're contemplating. when do you think you'll make the big purchase? i can't wait to see what you end up getting! good luck!

ya, i am deciding on the 2.5 or the 3.0. I have to test drive both first. Put i might get the 3.0 6spd MT. Also fully loaded. And this will happen by the summer i hope because, by then i hopfully will have paid down the loan i have right now on my Z3

Well, shoot, if you get a loaded 3.0i then there should be no question at all about trading in your 2.3 Z3! I never tested the 3.0, but every article I read giving the Z4 accolades is after driving the 3.0 not the 2.5. The 2.5 is pretty much ignored. :( Have you read about the way the sound engineers created an engine "subwoofer" that passes infront of the driver's pedal well to give a sense of the power? How cool is that? I hope you get it! That'll be awesome! One other note - if you haven't considered getting the DVD navigation system, you really should. It serves as more than a navigation system. You can equalize your music and it is also used to locate you to emergency services in case you're in trouble. It's very cool.

IF YOU WANT A ROADSTER WHICH WILL BLOW THE DOORS OFF THE Z4, TAKE A LOOK AT THE NEW NISSAN 350 ROADSTER:smoker: :smoker: :smoker: :smoker:

350Z roadster is only a computer generated image. There isn't even a real prototype

WELL THE LOCAL DEALER SAID THEY EXPECT THEM IN THE SHOW ROOM APRIL, BUT ROAD AND TRACK SAID EARLY SUMMER. THEY MUST BE A LOT FURTHER ALONG THAN YOU THINK. I HAD A REAL BAD EXPERIENCE WITH MY Z3, YOU MAY HAVE SEEN IT ON EARLIER POST.
SO IF I CANNOT GET THE 350Z ROADSTER, I MAY HAVE TO SETTLE ON THE S 2000 WHICH IS VERY FAST BUT A SMALLER TRUNK. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY BMW DID NOT PUT MORE BEEF CAKE IN THE Z4 WITH THEIR 28% PRICE INCREASE OVER MY 2000 Z3. BMW HAS STARTED PRICING A LOT OS OPTIONS WHICH REALLY RUN THE COST UP LIKE AN AMERICAN CAR. HONDA S-2000 EVERYTHING IS STANDARD.
I HAVE OWNED 2 NISSAN MAXIMA BEFORE WITH NO SERIOUS PROBLEMS, I JUST WROTE THE PRESIDENT OF NISSAN CONCERNING MY RECENT TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH BMW, I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHAT HE SAYS ABOUT DELIVERY DATE.

THE 350Z WILL BE AT THE NYC CAR SHOW IN APRIL. I AM SURE A LOT MORE WILL BE PU8T OUT THEN.

Id definetly go for the z4.. FAR better handling! The z3 wasn't a proper BMW, some say, and I partly agree with him... Furthermore, I don't really like white as a colour on cars..

Anyone who has doubts about the Z4... go for a test drive. Trust me. I'm a huge Nissan freak (as if that needed to be stated), but I really can't imagine the 350Z convertible being more fun. I wonder how far that Z4 motor can be pushed, though.

BTW, that sweet sound coming from the dash is where the engineers piped the intake roar into the cab! Now there's an innovative idea.

And the 350Z convertible is a reality. Once Carlos Ghosn says something is going to happen, it happens.

Go for a new Z4, 2.5 or 3.0, theyre both great. Im sorry, but Z3 is never going to become a collectors’ car.

Hmmm.... I've heard just the opposite. That the Z3 handles like butt and the Z4 is a big improvement. That was from Car and Driver, I believe.

wow

I didnt notice that comment first time round.. im astonished... where did you hear this??? :bloated:

Apart from the Z3M, the Z3 was, in all honesty, a big disappointment dynamically for BMW. The Z4 is said to be - in some respects - better than a Boxster. Praise does not come any higher than that.
