I have a 1999 Ford Windstar (3.8 86k) that all the sudden would not start for my wife. I checked it and the car will start if you give it a little gas and keep your foot on the accelerator. It will idle well as long as you give it a slight bit of gas. The car drives fine until you take you foot out of the gas then it stalls. It does this until the car is warm when it seems to run normal with no help.
Anyone have a clue?

My guesses:
1. The IAC control valve. Mounted on top of throttle body with two little wierd screws. Some folks have had luck lifting this valve and doing a little cleaning/lubricating inside. Watch the delicate gasket.
2. A sudden vacuum leak ... split or broken hose somewhere.
