Hello everybody,

Failed the inspection MD. Say steering rack leaking. Mechasnic "adviced" nea one (the easiest way to come out from the situation. If you buy new car you wouldn't have any problems - this thing is known also to my 3 y/o/ son!)/ But quistion is $$$$/ Everybody wonna have a job done to shake money from our pockets.:grinno:
Can some one say what does it mean "leaking"? Boot not ok broken< some leaks on the metal pieces ( drops when put sone liquid through the cap for steering from above?
Also, I foud the steering rack pinion of Pontiac Grand Prix Gt 2000. Is it's part is ok and will fit to Impala 2001 LS or they are different?
By the way, they have such marks a) WITH FE2, FE3, FE9, & 7B3 SUSPENSION

b) WITH FE1 SUSPENSION - some one knows that?
What kind of marks above the Impala 2001 has, and what Pontiac Grand Prix GT 2000 has?
What do i need for Impala 2001 Fe2, Fe3 or what. My engine is 3.8

Please guys I need your help,if you have a picture of the parts mentioned above it would be appreciated to see the parts new and @leaking one".

THanks, pl need help asap I can do something today on my car and parts to buy or to use used one.
Thanks.

I would get a price of a new one.... I know that first bite hurts but if you plan on keeping the car for awhile and the used one fails you will have to go through the problem all over again... Normally OEM parts are the best but some aftermarket stuff is ok but they have a good warranty BUT the labor is what gets you.... good luck and let us know how you make out
