Does anybody know where i can purchase afactory replacement radio for an 04 suburban, must have cd player and tape, also would like to have it for xm. whats in there now is the factory bose system with tape and cd, but is broken. thanks for any help.

You probably have two choices here, the dealer or an auto salvage yard.
Most of the salvage yards here will pull all the electrical stuff and keep it indoors so it's never exposed to the elements.

Does anyone know if the night lights in these stock units are serviceable?
Mine is a 1999.

They are soldered to the PCB... so kindda... really depends on how good you are at soldering.

Plus you have to tke your vehicle to the dealer,the newer radios,about 2004 and up have to be programed with GM's factory scan tool Tech 2

If you've not gotten any other help regarding the radio night lights in your 1999, I replaced all of them in my '99 Suburb a few months ago using these sites for help:
For r/r the radio:

This yorkspace site shows how to replace the regular lights with blue LEDs. However, checking the reader responses at the bottom of the article, you'll see that a reader found the correct replacement white lights at Radio Shack--about $1.70 for a 2-pack.

I decided to go with the blue LEDs. Again, a reader found some LEDs with built-in resistors, thereby excluding the need for all of that wiring and resistors as shown in the article.

A soldering iron was still needed to remove the original bulbs and replace with the LEDs, tho. Not a difficult process. And a whole lot neater.
All of the above may sound confusing. You need to go to the yorkspace site to fully understand and appreciate.
I could post a pic of my results here (I'm a newbie--can I do that?) or at my own website, but the yorkspace site has a few pics; click on them to enlarge.

How many bulbs are in a 99 burban radio? Mine has the cassette deck. The CD deck is separate.
