:banghead: Was wondering if anyone may have any info for me? We have a 1990 Olds 98 Regency - 3.8 L V6. The timing chain broke on it. Got a timing chain and replaced it. Made sure timing was right. Car will not start. It will turn over but will not start and it backfires when it does act like it wants to start. The computer kept giving us a code of 22 - TPS. It has been replaced as well as the wire from it to the computer. The computer has also been replaced. Replaced the camshaft position sensor and the crankshaft position sensor. Nothing has helped. Checked the cylinders with a compression gauge - one was 95. What does that tell anyone? Anyone who has any ideas as to what to check would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to AF, bent valves, bad harmonic balancer ( slipped on the inner hub) mixed plug wires, no signal to the ign module from the cps , cam timing off. All possibilities, no quick answer here. Scan it and see if you have cranking rpms on the scanner, recheck all the connections from your work.
