I have a 1999 and noticed a rattling sound from inside the steering wheel recently. Now the air bag light comes on intermittently while driving.
I had the clockspring replaced as a recall about 3 years ago.
Any help before I submit to the mercy of the dealer appreciated.
Thanks,
Vats

Sounds like another clockspring. Not sure if you can double dip on the recall but I sure hope so. Nothing to be done but remove the horn pad and investigate but, that's best left to the pros.

Yep... what RIP said... I know several Caravan owners that have gone through multiple (free) clockspring replacements before their dealers got it right.

Just to let anyone with airbag trouble know, the clockspring is covered for Lifetime by Chrysler, or at lease in Canada anyway, so if the airbag light comes on, most likely the clockspring.
Its about the only freebie you will get from the dealer.

Just for reference sake, here is the link for the actual recall.
http://www.airbagsolutions.com/resources.aspx
In the section "US Government Sites" locate the link that says "Chrysler Clockspring Recall Notice". Click on that & then you can see the NHTSA Campaign. When you call the dealer you can refer to the actual recall #. Feel free to print this page; it's free information on our website called www.airbagsolutions.com (http://www.airbagsolutions.com)
Good luck
