2003 manual tranny cost=??

i,m considering buying a base model with about 98,000 miles the owner says it needs a transmission. are used trannys usually available and what,s it normally cost & labor. thanks.

call around to the salvage yards and price them. i would say if you can find one for $150.00 buy it but make sure they will stand behind it. i have bought some before and the salvage guy swore it was good as he drove it in and after you get it in something would be wrong with it.i would go ahead and put a new clutch pad, pressure plat and throw-out bearing while you got it apart
