how do i find out what final drive is in a used 2005 2500 suburban...
its gotta be either a 3.73 or 4.10

Final drive would take into account torque converter slip, transmission gearing, transfer case gearing, and differential gearing. However since you think it's 3.73 or 4.10, the way to find your differential gear ratio is:

Easy way is to check the RPO codes.

Harder way is to put the truck in neutral (block the front wheels, of course) and jack up one rear wheel. Count how many pinion shaft turns it takes to turn the wheel one full turn.

I think it is Regular Production Option and there should be a sticker in the glovebox with a bunch of 3 letter alphanumeric codes. For example, G80 means limited slip.

The Gear Ratio should start with a "G". Post all of the ones that start with G and we can tell you what the ratio is.

found the sticker in glove box.. found a website that listed all the modern GM codes...

so last question...
how much can i expect to pay, to have somebody switch out my 3.73 with a 4.10?
would that void the factory warranty its still under?
