i have a 2003 GTI 5 spd, fully loaded and i'm looking for more hp's and torque.
i'm new at this whole performace chip thing, i don't really want to modify my exhaust, i was researching this and i found at Stage 3/o2 chip what it does it modifies the air/fuel ratio signal.

i want more hp's but i don't want to hurt my engine or start causing problems, because it runs great now.
anyone have any other ways i can get more hp's, with out hurting my engine life or tranny?????

any help will be appreciated.

Check out what APR has to offer. http://www.goapr.com

I probably wouldnt mess with the o2 stuff. Get a good ECU chip that re-maps everything. It will run good, and shouldnt have any problems. Ive been running a chip in my 1.8t for about 5 years now, no problems at all. Clutch and brake pads might not last as long... but thats the fun in it!

Hey yeah thats what i thought when i was reasearching it, thank you
ECU chip eh, whats a good one? this apr site are they good?
i was wondering what your running at (h.p's/torque) after you put the chip in?
did you use the apr.com for yours?
thanks for the help, i just want to make sure everything will be good after i put this chip in.

p.s do i have to get it professional installed? do i have to get it programmed or dyno tested after ???

You have it flashed into your ECU, and I personally think GIAC chips as better, APR is really good as well though.
If you don't mind noise, you can also get Techtonics (or similar) turbo back exhaust, and a cold air intake. If you are afraid of sucking in water, then you can get an airbox (such as the eurosport one).
Have fun.
