nah i'm going with a weapon-R dragon intake. I had one on the last maxima and it was awesome and i had a 96 200sx se-r with one and they're just good intakes. they gurauntee at least 7.2 hp@wheels over stock and they have a comparison vs. an injen cold air intake(i think), maybe place racing. and the WR warm air had better gains plus they make a cold air kit so i can upgrade later if i want

most likely. i flew so far ahead i didn't even see the cars again at all. they must have gotten stuck at a light or something.

Yeah. I had a kid in a 300m thinking he was gonna beat me with his 250hp or wahtever they have. I gave him a car length head start and kicked the shit out of him...no more shit talking :) He never under estimated the Maxima again

I hope you are joking

The m3 is an Inline 6 and the 911 is a flat 6 i think

JBL85

And the only known v6 better than a VQ is the handbuilt NSX 3.2 liter engine

it's gonna debut with the new NSX.

I worked like 12 hours yesterday, I'm Getting a 3.5 by Christmas, but Paonessa or anybody , how do you think the 3.5 auto's compare to the 6 speed. I want the 6 speed but I think my old lady will be driving it sometimes. I have a 95 max auto now and I love it but Everyone knows the 6 speed kicks major ass.

i don't really know. ii shoulda test driven an automatic for comparison purposes, but i had my heart set on a 6 speed form the beginning

and nick i thought 6 cylinder engines using boxer technology are called flats. like the 911's and carrera's and the 4's are boxers like the porsche boxster or the scoobydoo imprezza but, like i said, i could be wrong. i'm gonna go to the porsche and subaru forums and ask what the difference is.

I dunno, I was sorta asking you to see if you knew. But still the VQ is the best "V" 6 engine made

IF your lady will be driving to, and cant drive a 6 speed, go
with the auto, it isnt as fun as the 6 speed, but its still very
quick. I just didnt like the way the auto shifted at full

Has any body ever raced a 3.5 Max against a 4th gen? If so, how much do you think it would win by. I'm talking auto vs auto.....

Another question..... How do you think a 3.5 auto max would do against an auto 98 Mustang GT?

joeB
06-28-2003, 01:49 AM
The 3.5 is about a second faster to 60 than a 4th Gen Maxima.

Id have to say that a auto 3.5 Maxima would beat a 98
Mustang GT.
It might be close though .

i drove a 3.5 Auto, saps a lot of the power, the tranny does...my 6 speed feels WAY faster. seriously, go for the standard, or you WILL kick yourself in the ass.

btw Nick, i was thinking 6 cylinders in general, not v6's when i wrote about the M3, 911, S200R

as far as the S2000R goes, someone test drove it, and got it to 60 in about 4 seconds!:eek7: 360 HP in something that weighs less than a Miata, think about it!!

Hey Thrasher, why do you say that? I want all the info I can get on an Auto 3.5...... Because i'm like seriously gonna get one, but I'm not gonna race 24/7, but i want a car with some balls so I figure because my old lady will be driving it too.... i'd get the auto.... Oh don't get me wrong, i want the 6 speed but......... More info on the Tranny saps alot of power. I drove one before and it felt cool but I've never raced anyone in it. Ok, guys just answer this question. I smoke countless cars in my 95 auto Max But there were certain cars I lost to That weren't that fast like a Supercharged Thunderbird or a GTP or some Mustang GT's.... (Will I Add More Cars To My Kill List With An Auto 3.5 Max or will it be no different than my 95 Max???)
If I Can SMOKE the 3 cars I just mentioned as well as get a YES for the question I just asked then I will go for the Auto 3.5 Max...

joeB
06-30-2003, 06:05 PM
Well some Thunderbird SC's were getting 6.3 0 to 60 or better
with five speeds. Those were quick cars. Id say that the
auto 3.5 Maxima would beat 98 auto GT's. Id also say that
a 3.5 would beat a Grand Prix Supercharged. We have a 98
Maxima GXE auto. Never lost any races with it. I always thought
that the 98 would stay right with the 2002 3.5 Maxima. I was wrong,
the 2002 was like a car lenth difference the whole way to 100.
I thought the 98 felt really quick, which I guess it was, but it wasnt
near the power the 2002 Maxima was. Hope this helps.

i have taken all of those cars you mentioned, and they are all pretty quick. the GTP will be a dead heat, a Mustang GT will take you, if 5 speed, and an S/C or v8 T-bird will be a good race as well. the problem with the auto is that you can't launch well, and you can't downshift if racing from a roll. i'm just saying that the 6 speed and the auto are a world apart, the auto feels quite sluggish compared to the standard. but don't get me wrong, it will be a big improvement over your current ride, way the fuck more torque than the 3.0 ask Paonessa, he should know, he just made the switch:iceslolan

A v-8 Thunderbird? A 2002 auto Maxima will beat one of those
very easy.

frankencar's have been known to cause a grip of blown MAF's, which is no good, cause then you have to put the OEM back in every time you need it serviced
