I have a 1979 Ford F 250 that i'm pretty sure has a bad turn signal switch. I say this because you have to move the turn signal lever to get em to come on and when they do come on usually they're blinking to fast. I just need help finding where the switch is and how to replace it?? Thanks for any help!!!

Check all of the bulbs, I had a side marker in fromt that gave me the same problem. Anyway the turn signal switch on my 79 F-150 is in the steering column behind the steering wheel.

Flashing fast means that you have a bulb out, I used to have a 1977 F-250 that did the same thing, the front passenger side running light/turn signal next to the head light was constantly loosing its ground due to corrosion, that might be a good place to start.
You turn signal switch has nothing to do with it, it just sends electricity to the flasher units, they blink in response to the load that is put on them, lighter the load the faster they blink, heavier the load the slower they blink that is why you have to install a heavy duty blinker when you tow a trailer.
The blinker units work from a piece of metal inside of them that gets hot and then bends breaking the contact and turning the electricity off.
- Heavy load = gets too hot too fast and takes longer to cool off making it blink slowly.
- Too little of a load = heats up enough to bend then cools off very quickly, making it blink fast.
- Average load = blinks at normal speed.
Hope this helps.
