just barely got the notification of being hired on within a new company yesterday.

So today I decide our 10-gallon fish tank needs a new, larger filter with our growing african dwarf frogs and betta fish; and what's going on at the local petsmart......an adopt-a-thon for lots of dogs from the humane society in Red River, Texas.

Mind you, I already have 3 little dogs - 2 poms & a chihuahua; well guess what catches my eye......

This moderately bouncy, clumzy, white-footed, 4 legged, brown-eyed, 31# 5 month-old puppy; Golden Retreiver/Collie mix, whom we immediately named River, and well River decides to jump in the back of my truck and wouldn't come out.

Soooo........$130 later, guess who's sleeping in my living room

Don't worry, they're in progress....dog has major gunk in his ears that we've been trying to clean out, humane society has been feeding him that idiotic Pedigree dog-food that's full of horrible corn, wheat, and by-product diseased crap. His ears are nasty, inflamed and very hurtful - trying to make him a bit more comfortable - I completely understand humane society's can only afford to do so much, food expense wise, but I wish they'd understand dogs can not live healthy on corn and wheat based foods, all they do is cause ear/skin/coat infections/issues and stomach problems.

He has a vet appt in the morning, but keeps pawing at the one ear. We mildly cleaned them out, and fed him 2 cups of California Natural lamb/rice food with some plain yogurt to get good bacteria in his belly.

They told me he'd been neutered, but they didn't say TWO days ago, boy has fresh stitches they never told me about - don't know if they're dissolvable or if they need removed in another few days or so.

I'll take some pics in a few, working on putting his new crate together so he can go to law-law land, this boys' exhausted.

Poor boy has double ear infections, mild case of possible kennel cough, AND he was chasing his ball across the kitchen floor and couldn't stop fast enough....guess where the boy guy ended up???

14 stairs to the bottom of a steep non-carpeted stairway :banghead:

He's fine, thank goodness puppies bounce back quickly!!

I'll get pics this afternoon for sure; camera's charging, heading to my nephews b-day party and we're taking him. Vet said it was very wise to make sure he gets interaction with a lot of variety while he's young enough to accept/grow with it.
