When you use Ebay, you are not buying items from Ebay, but rather buying from other Ebay users.

User feedback is essential to the way Ebay works. Click on the number in parenthesis next to a user's username and you'll see a list of comments, commendations and complaints about that user. Those items of feedback are tallied to get the number itself. (the higher, the better)

For that kit in particular, two things:

1. the seller is helenspirit516 (http://cgi2.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=helenspirit516), who is known to be the reincarnation of Sanxler and (someone else...) Many people on this board have trouble with that seller in particular. Read through their feedback to see what I mean...

2. That kit is brand new, and should be readily available through HLJ, Hobby Search, etc...

I have never had any problems.

If you click on the sellers name, it will give you any 'reports' about that person/company. Worth checking, then use your judgement!!

Of course, if I want something bad enough, I take the risk, but that's just me.

Just click on Helenspirit, check the feedback and decide.

Helenspirit aka RYULUK aka SANXLER

you'll get your item, but chances are it'll be all banged up..

i heard he wraps them with Green Paper and mails it like that!

and recently he's bumped up his shipping prices, is he using 1 dollar boxes now?? :)

I advise you not to buy from helenspirit... trust me from past experience and buying from him under other names... bad packaging or either he forgets to send it to you.... buy from a reputable seller on ebay or a reputable online store..

good customer service? not really. they do have an insurance policy though. if you send the money and don't get the item, you'll get you're money back. if you do get the item and it's damaged or what not, you and the seller have to work it out.

Paypal is secure.. if you have problem you can ask for a refound and it's fast... but ebay don't make anything to protect you

I've used eBay about fifty times or so over two years period, and I had a problem with an eBay seller (not eBay system itself) only once. I had to wait until my payment was reconfirmed, and the whole process took more than 3 month, but I eventually got the item I bought. (Imai 512BB)
During that 2 years period, the system never failed or caused any inconvenience, so I think it's trustworthy.
Still, when human is involved, there is a risk, so make sure you always check the feedback of the seller.

PayPal is credit card based.
Most sellers state in the auction ID what forms of payment they accept, so when you find something you want look there for it.
Some sellers will accept checks, Western Union or postal money orders, you just have to see what they will accept.

Good luck.
