99 burb with sagging rear end

I have a 99 K1500 Suburban with a rear end that sags a little bit. It currently has 111k miles and I've owned it since 37k miles. A friend mechanic noticed the rear end sagging and suggested I replace the leaf springs and replace the shocks with Monroe Reflex shocks. When I purchased the burb it had air shocks. Father-in law says keep the air shocks, friend says pitch'em, I tend to think I should replace them.

Having said all that, I'm curious what some of you think I should do?

Replace leaf springs, "re-arch" them, or leave them alone?

Keep the air shocks, replace with Monroe Reflex, KYB Monomax, or some other brand?

Oh ya, I also pull a 6,500lb camper with a weight distribution hitch during the summer months.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

i would of said replace/get rid of air shocks.then u mentioned pulling trailer.i'm not big on air shocks but if u need them for hauling. if not i'd go with redo leaf springs & replace shocks with a good heavy duty pair

I would replace the springs and the shocks especially if you are hauling. Instead of the air shocks go with a good heavy duty shock (like the ones your freind mentions). If you need to level the ride when towing a set of airbags between the springs and the frame might be the better way to go. I had a set of those on a used pickup and they made a big difference when towing my boat. Just my :2cents:
