Break power booster replacement

I am dealing with a brake problem and was told by firestone that the booster needed to be replaced. I have 1997 Suburban 4wd 350. I do not have the Hydro boost and was wondering how difficult the boost is to replace. I would like to save the money and do it myself. I have looked at other post regarding this and there are no details on how difficult this process will be. Any help would be appreciated.

Remove 2 nuts holding the master cylinder. From inside remove 4 nuts holding the booster. Install in reverse.

Wow it is that simple. Nothing needs to be disconnected from the sterring or anything? Should i bleed the breaks when I am done?

It may be that simple (though I doubt it) depending on how far you can get the master cylinder away from the booster without disconnecting any lines. If you have to disconnect lines then you will have to bleed the system.

You will also need to remove the stop light switch from the brake pedal to remove the pushrod from the pedal.

I hope you're sure the booster is at fault and not the Master Cylinder

Maybe you could give us some more detailed info as to what's happening with your brake system.
