removing EGR valve

I have planned to remove the EGR valve on my 2001 Windstar 3.8, for cleaning. Is there any problem to remove the big nut on the tube coming from the manifold that connect to the EGR valve; this nut and the tube look rusted and I'm scare to break something.

well there realy is not much you can clean buy taking off the valve, but that tube can be tough. On mine the nuts froze on, and I had to cut the tube. No big deal as mine was rotted out also. Now when I did get it off, the threds in the EGR were gaulled quite a bit. I did get them cleaned enough to thred back in theough. On the exoust side the adapter off the exoust that it screws onto was shot. I had to replace that also. So depending on the shape of everything, it could be a real pain.
