Ok, I just got this vehicle and here is what I know about it. it's a '93 GMC Jimmy 4X4 SLE with 131k mi on it. It has the 4.3 Vortech eng. code "W". It hasn't had much regular maintainance. Dirty oil, bad plugs, wires, rotor, cap, etc... I replaced the starter, batt., wires, plugs, cap, and rotor. She fires right up upon start but runs rough. Very sluggish and low on power when I try to drive it. #4 cyl is misfiring but is getting spark and has compression. Seems to be fuel. I have read all kinds of bad things about this fuel spider. Any way to clean or rebuild one rather than pay the outragous price for a new one? Does this sound like a fuel spider problem? No check engine light on. Any help would be appreciated.

I was having the same issue with my 98 and although it didn't throw any codes it was my MAF sensor. Was constantly causing misfires and sluggish acceleration and a bad gas smell. All is good now though, runs like she did when I bought her at 60,000 miles now has 158,000

Ok I did a little shade tree mechanics and pulled a fuel pressure test. I turned the ignition to on and the pump primed for two seconds, I then took a screw driver and pressed the schrader(sp) valve on the fuel line. It only dribbled out. If it had 55psi like it's supposed to it should have spewed out all over the place. I found the AC Delco fuel spider, nut kit, and manifold gasket all new in box for $250. Anybody tell me if that's a good deal or not? I am hoping this will cure my prob. I checked the MAF. It looks good but I am going to replace it anyway when I put the fuel spider in.

Thanks Chris, I was trying to find some instructions as to what I was about to embark on. That thread will be most helpful when my parts come in later this week. I went ahead and ordered the spider, nut kit, and gasket. Hopefully this will fix my prob. I'll post what happens.
