The parking brake light started flashing last night while I was driving. It is in a pattern/code of 1 long followed by 9 short. I have a repair manual that doesn't address codes from the parking brake light. I found a sight for trouble codes online that says fuel pump circuit shorted or crank position sensor but I think this is service engine light codes. Anybody have anything like this or different info on the code? The site was www.troublecodes.net (http://www.troublecodes.net) if anybody else needs it.
Thanks

Is it the ABS light or the parking brake light? ABS light will be yellow and the parking brake light will be red.
As far as I can remember there are only two things to set the parking brake light off but it didnt flash codes. either your brake fluid is low (or pads are getting worn which drops the brake fluid level) or your parking brake isnt releasing all the way. Pull the release, grab the pedal and pull it up further. Check your brake fluid level too.
I have never heard of a brake light flashing codes.

You have a code 10 - Brake Lamp Switch Circuit.
At the Brake Switch, there is a Pink Strip/White wire that supplies +12 to the Brake Switch. The Purple wire at the Brake Switch goes back the RWAL Brake Controller.
You need to check if you have 12 volts at the Pink Strip/White wire (without removing the connector - i.e. back probe it). If you dont have 12 volts, a fuse is blown or a wire is broken.
If you have 12 volts at the Pink Strip/White wire, then there should also be 12 volts on the Purple wire (with brakes not applied). No 12 volts on the Purple wire indicate a bad brake switch. If you have 12 volts on the purple wire, then you need to see if there is 12 volts on the purple wire at the RWAL controller.

Interesting! I do remember back in the day either a TSB or a recall on the brake switches on those body tahoes/burban/CK's

It is the parking brake light not an abs light. I'll check for the 12v later on today when I get a chance and post back.
