Transmission Shudder - fixed!!

Okay, not sure how people here like the 'miracle cure' stuff you see on store shelves but this one is apparently working.

Dr. Tranny Instant Torque Converter Shudder Eliminator -- purchased at O'Rielly's Auto Parts

I had the problem of when putting along at about 2k rpm in overdrive (60-65mph), every couple of minutes the transmission would shudder, like to converter was slipping - real bad slip.

Ford flushed the system twice a year ago, used MerconV, put in some of thier brand conditioner and it help a while but then got worse. I put in some of the Lucas Oils Transmission stuff and that help a tiny bit. I was ready to trade it off when the local guy showed me this stuff.

I figured for $7, what could it hurt. It is a small tube, about 2 oz. Drove to town, warmed up transmission, stopped and put it in. By the time I got on the highway, I thought I felt a little shake, but that was it! Has not shuddered anymore and feels much more easy shifting too!:screwy:

I'm Happy! Has anyone else heard of this stuff? My luck this is acid that is melting my transmission as we speak, but it has been 3 days and as of today, I'm real happy. Or should I quickly sell it before it blows up?? :icon16:

Hope this helps, any feedback would be appreciated (kinda late...) but would be appreciated.

If anyone wants a picture of the package, let me know.

Roger

My guess is that there is a problem with the transmission that needed a more agressive additive to solve.
Will the problem get worse as time goes on?....I am not qualified to answer that question.
I WOULD stay with the recommended fluid change schedule......and you may find that you need to add this with each fluid change.
The Mercon V IS the correct fluid for the Windstar.
